Accommodation

What types of rooms are available at The King’s Head Hotel?

We offer a variety of rooms including four poster, double, family, triple and twin rooms, all with full en-suite facilities. Please note that, being an old hotel, no one room is exactly the same as another, and the photos shown are examples of each room type.

Is there wireless internet available in the rooms?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel for our guests.

Are there facilities for guests with mobility issues?

Please note that The King’s Head Hotel does not have a lift or ground floor rooms. The stairs are winding and narrow, and some rooms are located on the second floor, so guests with difficulty using stairs are advised to contact us before booking.

Do you allow pets?

Yes, we are dog-friendly, and most of our rooms can accommodate your furry friends. Please inform us in advance if you plan to bring a dog. There is a £5 charge per night.

Parking

Is parking available at The King’s Head Hotel?

Yes, we have a residents’ car park on-site, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that we cannot guarantee a parking space for hotel residents, and all vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk.

What is the capacity of your car park?

Our car park can hold approximately 18 cars, and larger vehicles may find it easier to access via Palace Pound. There is also a public car park nearby on New Street with pedestrian access to our car park.

Do you accommodate electric vehicles?

We have two EV charging points on the Voltshare network. To find out more please click here.

Check-in/Check-out

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is by 11:00 am.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

Yes, all room rates include a full Wye Valley breakfast.

When do I pay for my stay?

Payment is made on check-out.

Dining

What are the opening times for the restaurant and bar?

The Bar is open Sunday from 12 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday and Tuesday from 4 pm to 10 pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 am to 10:30 pm, and Friday to Saturday from 11 am to 11 pm. The Restaurant operates Monday to Saturday evenings from 5:30 pm to 9 pm, Sunday evenings from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and Sunday lunch from 12 pm to 3 pm. We serve fresh sandwiches in the bar Wednesday to Saturday from 12 pm to 2 pm.

Is the restaurant open to non-residents?

Yes, our restaurant is open to both residents and non-residents. We recommend making a reservation in advance to guarantee seating.

Bar

What beverages are served at The King’s Bar?

We offer three hand-pulled traditional real ales, a range of spirits, liqueurs, wine by the glass or bottle, and a selection of classic cocktails.

Are food options available in the bar?

Yes, we offer a small range of homemade bar bites, and evening meals can also be served in the King’s Bar, although typically not at weekends.

What are the operating hours for The King’s Bar?

The bar is open Sunday to Thursday from 12 pm to 10:30 pm and Friday to Saturday from 12 pm to 11 pm. Evening meals are served Tuesday to Saturday from 6 pm to 9 pm and Sunday from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

Accessibility

What accessibility is available for wheelchairs?

The Bar has steps, while the Restaurant and Library have no steps. Please note that The King’s Head toilets are too small for wheelchair access. The Corn Exchange has a wheelchair-accessible disabled toilet.

Booking Terms

How do I cancel my reservation?

Cancellations can only be made by emailing the hotel at enquiries@kingshead.co.uk.

What is your cancellation policy?

For standard bookings, if you cancel or postpone within 48 hours prior to 12 noon on your arrival date, 100% of your stay will be charged unless we are able to re-let your room for the full length of your cancelled stay.

Are there special terms for group bookings?

Yes, group bookings may require pre-payment and up to 30 days’ notice.

Is the hotel non-smoking?

Yes, this is a non-smoking hotel. Guests found to have smoked in their rooms will be charged a minimum of £50 to return the room to a non-smoking room.

What should I know before booking?

Prices are in GBP and include VAT at the prevailing rate. Due to unforeseen market forces, the hotel reserves the right to amend prices accordingly. In certain circumstances it may be necessary for the hotel to amend, cancel or postpone your booking, in which case an alternative choice of dates or local location may be offered.

Are guests responsible for damage or lost property?

We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to items belonging to guests which are left unattended. Guests are liable for damage caused which is not deemed to be normal wear and tear and may be charged for replacement or repair costs. This also includes any malicious or negligent damage caused by either themselves or their guests.

Can the hotel refuse or curtail a stay?

Yes, the management reserves the right to cancel or curtail your stay if actions or behaviour are considered disruptive or unacceptable to other guests or the smooth running of the hotel.

Is there a dress code in the restaurant?

Yes, we ask that residents and their guests adhere to a reasonable smart/casual dress code in the restaurant. Leisurewear and sportswear are not considered suitable, and management reserves the right to determine what is appropriate.
